TIPS FOR SUNBATHING - A GUIDE TO A GORGEOUS AND EVEN TAN

We hear plenty of negative news about sunlight and UV-rays these days, which created a general sense of fear in many. Of course, protecting your skin against damaging rays is necessary, however, by following a couple important rules, you can easily achieve a nice color while staying safe and keeping your skin healthy.

Timing is everything

The first and most important rule is to avoid sun exposure between 11:00 and 15:00 in extreme high temperature. That is when the sun is most intense and will instantly burn you. It is recommended to stay in shade during that time, and don’t be out for more than 30 to 60 minutes.

Tip: always protect yourself! Apply an SPF face cream every morning - implement this step into your daily routine.

Using the right product

If you would like to tan, steer away from scented products as they can cause allergies and induce spotting! Only use products made specifically for tanning! Wearing makeup is also forbidden as it can burn into your skin and cause serious issues. Be careful with perfume as well! Spray it on your swimsuit if you must, but never on your skin!

Tip: do not reduce sun protection to days when the sun is out! Your skin needs protection against UV-rays in cloudier weather as well! Always choose a sunscreen that protects against UVA- and UVB-rays!

Leather yourself nice and even

Apply your sunscreen evenly, everywhere. If you wish to have a nice, even tan, we recommend doing a scrub beforehand. Do a body scrub the night before, apply lotion and the result will be ten times better the next day! Do not forget to cover your ears, nose and mouth area, as these parts can also easily burn.

Repeat application

Who says that applying sunscreen one time is enough? You should repeat application every 2-3 hours, and if you sweat and often jump into the water to cool yourself, you must use sunscreen even more often!

Tip: a gradual approach is key. First, spend just a little time in the sun to get used to it, and build your tanning routine during the holiday. A sunhat and shades could also accompany your sunscreen on your tanning journey.

After-care

Sunbathing gives you a nice tan and provides you with Vitamine-D, which improves your overall condition and resilience. If you carefully follow these rules, you can maintain a healthy approach to enjoying summer and sunshine. We recommend using refreshing after-sun products at the end of the day to rehydrate and calm your skin.
