Budapest offers fascinating and wonderful activities all year round. Autumn brings mild sunshine, making it the ideal time to be outdoors, wandering the streets of the city centre or in nature.

After an active summer, we all long a peaceful retreat close to nature, a chance to rejuvenate ourselves.The fresh air and the smell of crisp, colourful leaves are all signs that nature is preparing for colder months, so it's time for us to slow down and prepare ourselves for the end of the year as well.

Here are some of our favourite autumn activities and we hope you'll add them to your bucket list.

Museum of Fine Arts: Renoir exhibition

Renoir - The Painter and his Models exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts from 22 September. Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was a leading figure of the Impressionists, who defined himself as a figurative painter and created a rich and varied oeuvre over six decades.

ELTE FŰVVÉSZKERT - Oasis in the city centre

Located next to the Corvin district, the Fűvészkert is the ideal place to relax and unwind in the city centre. The buildings in the garden contain plants from all over the world. Our personal favourite is the Palm House, which is also a beautiful place to take photos!

Normafa: Elizabeth Lookout

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, head to Normafa! It's a pleasant forest walk above Budapest, and at the end of the walk you can see the city from the top of the Elizabeth Lookout. Not only you, but also your little one is guaranteed to love this activity!

Castle Garden Bazaar

On an autumn weekend, there's nothing better than a stroll around Buda Castle and the Castle Garden Bazaar. Along the neo-Renaissance arcades you can enjoy a magical panorama of Budapest.

MÜPA - Music is the elixir of the soul!

The Liszt Festival takes place from 11-22 October, with a series of events for both classical and modern music lovers. In addition to chamber music, there will also be literary and visual arts programmes.
