Okinawa - the place of eternal youth

You've probably heard of the so-called "blue zones". The term comes from Dan Buettner, a National Geographic explorer who studied areas of the world where people live exceptionally long lives. During his research, Buettner marked these places on the map with blue circles, hence the term. 'Plant-based caviar' is indeed similar in meaning, as it is a siphonic microalgae, meaning a giant single cell with several seeds and can grow up to 30 cm long. 

In the top of the blue zones is Okinawa, a volcanic island in East Asia in Japan. The interesting thing about this place is that women live much longer than average, and without getting sick. This is due to diet, community activity and genetics. One of Okinawa's mottos is nuchi gusui, which means: let food be your medicine. The islanders eat five meals a day of vegetables, mostly fish, and are strict about eating only 80% of their meals well. 

The "treasure of the blue zone" 

This is a special place where green caviar grows, the main essence of Masque Caviar Vert. Green caviar is a rare seaweed that grows naturally at depths of 1,900 feet in the warm waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Seaweed is used in traditional Asian medicine, but is also consumed. In Okinawa it is known as umi-budo, which means "sea grape". 

Green caviar is a deeply hydrating, anti-ageing plant that is very rich in minerals: iodine, phosphorus, magnesium and copper. It also contains two types of collagen: collagen I is a protein that is the most abundant in the body and is responsible for skin firmness, and collagen IV provides mechanical stability to the skin.

Use of the mask: 

Cleanse, then pat dry your complexion. Open the mask pouch and remove the protective film on both sides.
