HOW TO DEAL WITH PIGMENT SPOTS?

Each summer, the sun tends to bring out pigment spots, which is a pain to get rid of, but sunblock and a couple unique active ingredients are up for the task, while of course, prevention is also key.

What causes pigment spots?

A dark pigment, melanin is responsible for the brown of your skin. When the sun hits the skin, it generates melanin in order to protect you from harmful rays, which gives you a tan, but also produces age spots. So, wherever the skin gets damaged, melanin creates freckles, moles, age spots and other hyperpigmentation. As sun exposure triggers them, we suggest paying extra attention to your skincare during summer.

Tip: Never go out without sunscreen, especially during the hottest hours, between 12 AM and 3 PM! Regularly reapply sunblock and put on a sunhat!

The older we become, the more age spots we have as the skin never forgets, and all the irresponsible sunbathing and tanning without sunblock means more spots.

What can we do?

Avoiding sun exposure and using sunscreen is essential; however, other factors will also determine the amount and shade of these spots: skin color, genetics, lifestyle, illness, medication and your beauty routine both have a role in how your skin changes with time.

Several solutions are available for problematic skin and hyperpigmentation. You might sometimes feel like getting rid of these spots is a mission impossible, but according to dermatologists:

- peptides,

- whitening azelaic acid

- and B3-Vitamine are pretty effective, so look for these ingredients when purchasing a product.

We, at BeautyPest Inc. can also recommend age spot treatments; our aestheticians will gladly help you design a personalized skincare regimen! And do not forget: prevention is key!
